AI/ML Manager – Global Firm
Our client is a reputable global firm based in Hong Kong seeking an experienced AI/ML Manager to join their technology team. This managerial position combines technical expertise in artificial intelligence and machine learning with strong project and stakeholder management capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage AI/ML initiatives from conception through deployment, ensuring alignment with business objectives and technical excellence
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including data scientists, engineers, and business stakeholders to identify opportunities for AI/ML applications that drive business value
- Provide technical leadership in designing and implementing machine learning models, algorithms, and data pipelines
- Review code, conduct technical assessments, and ensure best practices in AI/ML development are followed across the team
- Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders, translating complex technical concepts into business language and ensuring clear communication of project progress, risks, and outcomes
- Present findings and recommendations to senior management and executive leadership
- Oversee project timelines, resource allocation, and budget management for multiple AI/ML projects running concurrently
- Identify and mitigate risks while ensuring projects are delivered on time and within scope
- Build and mentor a high-performing team of data scientists and ML engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous learning
- Provide guidance on career development and technical skill enhancement
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field; Master’s degree or PhD preferred
- Minimum 7-10 years of experience in AI/ML development with at least 3 years in a managerial or leadership role
- Strong hands-on coding experience in Python, R, or similar languages with deep understanding of machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn
- Proven track record of building and deploying ML models in production environments
- Demonstrated experience in project management methodologies (Agile, Scrum) and stakeholder management across diverse groups including technical teams, business units, and C-level executives
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences
- Strong business acumen and ability to connect AI/ML solutions to business outcomes
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and MLOps practices
- Knowledge of data engineering, big data technologies, and distributed computing is highly desirable
