Data Platform Manager – MNC
About the Role
We are looking for a Data Platform Manager to lead the design, development, and maintenance of a centralized data platform supporting enterprise-wide data initiatives. This role entails building a robust data architecture framework and driving operational excellence across onshore and offshore data engineering teams. You will collaborate closely with analytics, IT, and business units to ensure scalable, secure, and efficient data solutions that translate into measurable business value.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end design and enhancement of data platform architecture aligned with business and compliance requirements
- Oversee development and maintenance of data pipelines on Azure Data Factory and Azure Databricks
- Develop and validate data models and integration pipelines, ensuring they meet business needs
- Implement and enhance data governance, automated data quality monitoring, metadata management, and compliance
- Act as liaison between data engineering, business units, and analytics teams
- Conduct regular architectural reviews to uphold security, quality, and efficiency standards
- Drive adoption of automation, DevOps, and cloud-native technologies through pilots and production rollout
- Lead incident management and perform root cause analysis to ensure platform resilience
- Promote best practices, provide documentation, and run training to foster technical excellence
- Monitor platform performance, resource usage, and costs, reporting regularly to leadership
What You’ll Need
- 5-10 years of experience in data engineering, platform management, architecture, governance, and solution delivery in cloud environments
- Proficiency with modern cloud platforms and tools such as Microsoft Azure ecosystem, Apache Flink, Kafka, CDC, Azure Databricks, and Azure Data Factory
- Strong skills in data modeling, integration, analytics, AI, and real-time data processing
- Experience leading and coordinating multi-disciplinary teams with agile and DevOps methodologies
- Excellent troubleshooting and root cause analysis capabilities for complex data systems
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related fields
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Databricks Certified Data Engineer, Microsoft Azure Data Engineer) are a plus
- Fluency in English; Mandarin is an advantage
- Prior exposure to aviation data or operations is beneficial but not mandatory
