Fashion Designer – Workwear / Suits

Our client is seeking a talented and versatile Fashion Designer to join their startup fashion brand specializing in workwear and suits (women’s, men’s). As a key member of a small team, you will be responsible for designing, creating patterns, and overseeing the production of our garments.

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop innovative and stylish workwear and suit collections for our target audience.
• Create detailed sketches, technical drawings, and specifications for each garment.
• Develop patterns and sew sample garments to ensure proper fit, quality, and aesthetics.
• Research and source high-quality fabrics, trims, and other materials from suppliers.
• Negotiate prices and lead times with suppliers to ensure cost-effectiveness and timely production.
• Collaborate with the production team to oversee the manufacturing process, ensuring garments meet our quality standards.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest fashion trends, particularly in the workwear and suit market.
• Contribute to the development of the brand’s overall aesthetic and visual identity.
• Work closely with the Brand and Marketing Manager to ensure collections align with the brand’s strategy and target audience.
• Attend trade shows and industry events to gather inspiration, network, and promote the brand.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or a related field.
• Proven experience in designing and creating patterns for workwear, suits, or tailored garments.
• Strong knowledge of fabrics, materials, and garment construction techniques.
• Proficient in sketching, pattern making, and sewing.
• Familiarity with sourcing materials and managing relationships with suppliers.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain high quality standards.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, startup environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop)
• Passion for fashion and a deep understanding of the workwear and suit market.
