Investment Accounting Manager – Insurance
Our client is a leading insurance firm with a strong presence in Hong Kong. As part of their commitment to driving effective investment strategies and financial management, they are seeking an experienced Investment Accounting Manager to join their finance team.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the investment accounting function, ensuring accurate and timely recording, reporting, and analysis of investment transactions.
- Oversee the preparation and review of investment-related financial statements, reports, and disclosures.
- Develop and maintain investment accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Collaborate with investment managers, custodians, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate and efficient investment accounting processes.
- Monitor and analyze investment performance, providing insights and recommendations to senior management.
- Manage the preparation and filing of investment-related regulatory reports.
- Lead and participate in various finance projects, driving continuous improvement and automation initiatives.
- Stay abreast of accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices related to investment accounting.
- Mentor and guide team members, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous development.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, or equivalent) is highly desirable.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in investment accounting, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
- Strong knowledge of investment products, accounting standards (e.g., HKFRS, IFRS), and regulatory requirements.
- Experience in the insurance industry is a significant advantage.
- Proficient in using investment accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex investment accounting issues.
- Strong leadership and project management skills, with the ability to drive initiatives and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels.
- Proficiency in English and Cantonese, both written and verbal, is essential.
