Manager, Compensation and Benefits (European MNC)

Our client is a renowned European MNC and they are looking for a Manager, Compensation and Benefits. This person will lead a team of 3 staff, reporting to the Head of HR. Regional role covering APAC.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop and implement the compensation and benefits strategy for the Asia Pacific region. Work with regional management to determine a total rewards philosophy and programs aligned with company goals.
  • Design and manage compensation programs such as base salary, bonuses, long-term incentives, sales commission plans, etc. Conduct regular benchmarking to ensure competitiveness.
  • Oversee the annual salary review and bonus process. Make recommendations on budget allocation and work with HRBPs to determine fair and equitable packages across the region.
  • Manage relationships with benefit brokers and providers. Determine the optimal mix of benefits such as medical, life insurance, retirement plans to offer employees at minimum cost.
  • Overseeing the global mobility for employees transferring to APAC
  • Oversee the payroll maintained / calculated by the C&B team with a headcount of 600
  • Stay up to date with trends, regulations and best practices in compensation and benefits. Monitor changes in policies, government regulations, taxation, etc to assess impact and identify need for modifications.
  • Analyze data on compensation, benefits costs and take necessary actions to optimize spend and value. Prepare regular reports on budget, costs and key metrics for regional and global management.
  • Address queries and handle communication related to compensation, benefits and HR policies. Resolve or escalate issues as needed. Provide advice and recommendations to managers on complex cases.
  • Lead projects to enhance the compensation & benefits approach such as developing career frameworks, improving payroll processes, implementing new HRIS modules, etc.

The successful candidate will possess:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, HR or related field.
  • Excellent communicator and fluent in English and Cantonese is required
  • 8-10 years of relevant experience in compensation and benefits, preferably at a regional level
  • Technical knowledge of compensation design, benefit programs and regional regulations
  • Experience with HR metrics, data analysis and reporting
  • Project management skills and ability to handle complex implementations
  • Strong communication abilities with experience advising, negotiating and influencing stakeholders
